Chat System

The chat system on the Social Network system allows users who are friends with each other to engage in live chat. The application doesn't require anything extra to run. It updates the chat every 5 seconds and issues a sound alert when you have a new message.

When chatting, you can minimize the box, close it or delete the chat. When you delete a chat, the other user is notified. You can have multiple chat windows open at a time.

You can disable the Live Chat aspect in the Admin Panel under Global Settings.

Users can also use the Inbox function to send messages to each other. This area is more static and uses less resources as it isn't auto-updating every 5 seconds.
